The Old Ship Tavern

Engraving showing the carved wooden doorway of the Old Ship Tavern in Water Lane, Billingsgate, London, in 1857. At that time it was suggested that this doorway would be removed to make way for building improvements.

I’m not sure if this was the same "Ye Olde Ship Tavern" that was mentioned in "The Ripper and the Royals", which I believe was located in Bartholomew Lane in the 17th Century, or perhaps, if the tavern’s location was transferred to Billingsgate in the early 1800’s.
